We've been running email infrastructure since 1999. Cleanify is the verification layer we wished we had.

Why we built Cleanify
Hi there,
I've been running email infrastructure since 1999. For most of those years I was on the sending side — first with Octeth, then Sendloop — watching tens of billions of messages go out and, sometimes, not come back.
When your job is email delivery, you learn quickly that the single biggest predictor of success isn't the subject line, the send-time, or the template. It's the list. A list with a 6% bounce rate will underperform a list with a 0.5% bounce rate on every metric that matters — deliverability, open rate, reply rate, sender reputation, future campaigns. Bad addresses don't just waste the send; they poison the sends that come after.
By 2019 we had watched this happen to our customers for two decades. We'd recommend a verification tool, they'd run their list through it, and still half the bounces would come back. The tools would cheerfully mark accept-all servers as "valid" and mis-flag temporarily-unreachable mailboxes as "invalid." The accuracy wasn't there because the incentives weren't there — verification had become a commodity race to the cheapest price per email, and cheap verification is almost always wrong verification.
So we built the one we wished we had. Not a race-to-the-bottom verifier. A technical, honest, engineering-led one. One that tells you exactly why an address failed — MX host, accept-all, role, disposable, free, no-reply, mailbox full — so you can segment properly instead of throwing out anything ambiguous. One that's priced to cover the actual cost of doing the work right.
That's the mission. Protect the inbox for the people who send to it. Cleaner lists, fewer bounces, better sender reputations, messages that actually land where they were meant to land. Every feature we ship — the bulk verifier, the API, the white-label program — is in service of that single thing.
We've stayed small on purpose. The same engineers who run the verifier answer your support tickets. We take referrals over paid growth. And when a cheaper tool beats us on price, we don't chase them down — we'd rather be the one you trust on the send you can't afford to get wrong.
Thanks for being here. If you ever want to talk email — deliverability, lists, weird edge cases, anything — my inbox is open.
Warmly,
Cem Hürtürk
Founder, Cleanify
A decade of email deliverability.
Octeth founded
Self-hosted email marketing platform for agencies. We start building email marketing and delivery infrastructure for customers around the world.
Sendloop launches
Hosted sister product — same team. Brings the Octeth engine to SaaS-style customers who don't want to run their own stack.
PreviewMyEmail launches
Easy-to-use inbox preview service for email marketers — see how every send renders across mail clients before it ships. Acquired by SMTP.com in 2013.
Cleanify launches
Verification is split out as its own product. Referrals from Octeth and Sendloop drive the first thousand users.
White-label program opens
First reseller goes live at $9,000 setup + 40% rev share. Twelve agencies onboard that year.
API becomes free
We stop charging separately for API access. Every credit purchase includes full API.
1,257 teams verifying
Still growing through referrals. Still built by the same engineering team.
Accuracy, honesty, specificity.
Accuracy over speed
We'd rather return "unknown" than a confident false positive. Your deliverability depends on it.
Show the work
Every response includes per-check booleans and MX details. No black-box score, no trust-us grade.
Specific beats marketed
Real numbers, real benchmarks, real response samples. If a claim has no number, we don't make it.
